Marketing a Work/Comp Practice

THOMAS S. BAKMAN, D.C., F.A.F.I.C.C.

Industrial Chiropractor & Worker’s Compensation Case Manager
Fellow of the Academy of Forensic and Industrial Chiropractic Consultants
AME – QME #913561 – IME

Dr. Bakman has been heavily involved in treating and evaluating the injured worker since the early 90's in California’s Central Valley (Fresno). He and a partner created a trans-disciplinary treatment program (FIRM, assoc., Inc.) by hiring and utilizing MD, PT, OT (certified hand therapists), DC and exercise trainers with shared outcome goals.

Further success eventually lead to the study of the workers compensation system in  “reverse.” The employer’s final economic costs could now be better forecasted through using a provider team trained in making better decisions. This has effected the experience modification ratios and predictably lowered the employer’s bottom line.

Dr. Bakman has actively managed/treated 2,500-3,000 new injuries per year.  Claims were medically channeled from employers and insurance companies. These musculoskeletal injuries varied from simple to the complex with a high volume of cumulative trauma.

He has enjoyed a mutual respect with large insurance carriers (i.e. State Compensation Fund) and private and public employers (i.e. Target and Fresno County).

He has relocated to the Southern California to build a new facility in Huntington Beach at the former Pacifica hospital facility with Dr. Paul Wakim.
